About the ILS PACE Center
Most care is provided in a non-institutional setting either in our ILS PACE Center and/or in the place where you live. Independent Living For Seniors participants attend the ILS PACE Center where their care team is located. ILS PACE Center attendance is determined based on individual needs.
The ILS PACE Center is vibrant and active with individual projects and active small and large group programs as well. At the center, you will find programs that are culturally diverse and that offer the opportunity for each participant to pursue their individual interests, as well as become a part of the ILS community.
The ILS PACE Center is also where you receive medical and rehabilitation services and a hot meal.
Activities
The ILS PACE Center has recreational coordinators who organize activities for ILS participants. Activities offered at the center include:
- Worship services
- Musical entertainment
- Holiday celebrations
- Women's and Men's social clubs
- Computer classes and computer use with specially designed software called "It's Never Too Late"
- Arts and crafts
- Games, exercise and dancing, including chair dancing
- Gardening
- Pet therapy
The ILS PACE Center has a very active Participant Council, which makes recommendations for new activities and offers feedback to the ILS program to continually improve participant satisfaction and the quality of the activities offered.
Alternative Care Settings
The members of your care team, the interdisciplinary team, work with you to determine if the alternative care setting is an appropriate service for you. Alternative Care Settings provide recreation opportunities in addition to the services offered at the ILS PACE Center.
When necessary, services may also be provided in your home, in a hospital or in a nursing home. We have contracts with physician specialists (such as cardiologists, urologists, and orthopedists), laboratory and x-ray services, and you may receive services at these offices.
