Routine Gynecological Care

It is recommended that women of all ages should schedule wellness exams annually with a gynecologist for preventive care. During the annual exam, your Rochester General gynecologist will perform a pap smear to check for any abnormalities and also give general counsel in regards to birth control, cervical cancer screenings, menstrual problems, and other various conditions. Should your doctor find any abnormalities or indicate a cause for concern based on your health history, you may be sent for a cervical cancer screening, also known as a colposcopy, or breast cancer screening.
