The role of the Food Guide Pyramid in weight management is to guide healthy food choices by illustrating appropriate serving sizes and number of servings needed from each food group.
Weeks 4, 5, 10
The role of physical activity in weight management is to improve physical health, help create a negative energy balance, and improve self-esteem and body image.
Weeks 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, Snacks
Making healthy food choices when snacking, at the grocery store, and in fast food and other restaurants is an important part of weight management.
Homework, Weeks 1, 6, 12
Exploring internal and external cues for eating provides self-awareness necessary for making dietary changes.
Weeks 7, 11
Through media literacy and size acceptance, a person can gain self-esteem and a positive body image necessary to make lifestyle choices founded on health.
