Expert Cancer Surgery in a Comforting Environment

Cancer diagnosis and treatment requires the expertise of a team of physicians and medical professionals. Our medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and cancer surgeons work as a team to provide comprehensive cancer care for our patients.

At the Lipson Cancer Center, surgeons play a major role in the care of patients who have been diagnosed with cancer. The cancer surgeon may be a surgical specialist in general surgery or surgical oncology, colorectal surgery, urology, ENT (ear, nose & throat), orthopedics, neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, gynecology or plastic surgery.

We offer treatment for all types of cancers, from the most common cancers to rare, complex cases including:

  • Breast cancer
  • Colon and rectum cancer
  • Lung cancer
  • Urologic cancers (prostate, bladder, etc.)
  • Gynecologic cancers (uterine, ovarian, etc.)
  • Skin cancer
  • Complex upper and lower GI cancers (hepatobiliary, pancreatic, etc.)
  • Orthopaedic spinal problems resulting from cancer

Our surgeons use state-of-the-art surgical treatments like the DaVinci Robotic Surgical System. When possible, robotic surgery is used to treat urology (prostate), colorectal (colon and rectal) and gynecologic (uterine and ovarian) cancers. Other surgical therapies include:

  • Sentinel node mapping and biopsy
  • Laser surgery
  • Cryoablation or radiofrequency ablation (RFA)
  • Insertion of implantable hepatic arterial infusion pumps and chemoembolization
