Dr. Rauh grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio where he attended college and medical school. In 1982 he began his career in Rochester, where his wife and then small children could be near her family. He completed his surgical residency at the University of Rochester, and trained in Colon & Rectal Surgery at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Rauh joined Rochester Colon & Rectal Surgeons, P.C. (RCRS) in 1988. The Rauhs live in Webster.
Dr. Rauh was the first in upstate New York to adopt many technologies such as laparoscopic colon surgery (1993) and robotic colorectal surgery (2008). Both such groundbreaking technologies in colon and rectal sugery took place at Rochester General Hospital. He leads the largest team of fully board certified colon specialists in Rochester. His practice, RCRS, has provided more varied and numerous robotic colon surgeries than any group in the state of New York and probably the country.
His interests include Transanal Surgery, Crohn's and ulcerative colitis care, streamlining perioperative care for shorter hospital stays, restoring bowel control (fecal incontinence) diverticulitis treatments (including nonsurgical) and treating colorectal cancer without colostomies.

T. Jeffrey Dmochowski, MD

Dr. Dmochowski joined our group in 1981. He attended medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, and completed a surgical residency and fellowship in colon and rectal Surgery at Buffalo General Hospital. Originally from New Jersey, he now resides in Pittsford.

Bastian Domajnko, MD

Dr. Domajnko is highly regarded throughout the Greater Rochester area for his extensive surgical expertise in management of diseases of the colon and rectum. He practices with a team of surgeons who are national leaders in robotic colon and rectal surgery. He is skilled in numerous surgical procedures, particularly in minimally invasive surgery. Areas of expertise include surgical management of Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, and cancers of the colon and rectum.
Dr. Domajnko received his B.S. in Biochemistry from Tufts University in 1998, graduating with cum laude honors. In 2002 he graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. From 2002 to 2007 he completed a surgical residency at the University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital located in Rochester, NY. Following surgical residency, Dr. Domajnko went on to specialize in colorectal surgery by completing a fellowship at Cook County Hospital/University of Illinois at Chicago in 2008.
He is board-certified in Colon and Rectal Surgery and General Surgery, and maintains an assistant faculty position at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Research projects include laparoscopic and robotic colon and rectal surgery. Community activities include involvement in public education programs such as a J-Pouch support group for ulcerative colitis patients and diverticulitis seminars.
Dr. Domajnko is a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

Asim Farid, MD

Dr. Asim Farid is a native of Pakistan, where he went to medical school. After graduation in 1984 he went to England for surgical training, and obtained a Fellowship in General Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, Scotland.
He then moved to the USA in 1991, where he underwent Residency training at the Guthrie Clinic in Sayre, PA. After completing this training in 1996, he moved to Kentucky where he was a General Surgeon and Chief of Surgery at Owen County Memorial Hospital. In 2000 he joined Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit Michigan, for a 1 year Fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery. In September 2001 he moved to Rochester where he is now settled.
He is skilled at performing numerous surgical procedures in colon and rectal surgery. He has a particular interest in laparoscopic procedures, surgery for cancer of the colon and rectum and robotic surgery. He was one of the first surgeons in the area who performed the Stapled hemorrhoidopexy procedure, a specialized procedure for certain types of symptomatic hemorrhoids.
Dr. Farid certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
Michael J. Graney, MD

Dr. Graney founded the Rochester Colon-Rectal Surgeons, P.C. in 1976. He earned his medical degree at Case Western Reserve University and completed his residency at the University of Rochester and his fellowship at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA. He grew up in Batavia, NY and now lives with his family in Webster.

Claudia Hriesik, MD, PhD

Dr. Claudia Hriesik is highly regarded throughout Greater Rochester and Upstate NY for her expertise in colorectal surgical care and participation in bringing state-of-the-art surgical techniques to benefit patients with benign and malignant colorectal disease.
Dr. Hriesik is skilled at performing numerous surgical procedures, including advanced minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Hriesik is not only board certified in colorectal surgery but also trained in surgical oncology. With this unique background Dr. Hriesik is the only double boarded surgeon in Upstate NY who not only offers a background in colorectal surgical care but also oncological surgery expertise.
With her colleagues at Rochester Colon and Rectal Surgeons Dr. Hriesik was among the first surgeons to bring robotic surgery to Rochester and Upstate NY and was the first certified surgeon at RGH to offer sacral nerve stimulation therapy (InterStim) for fecal incontinence. She participates in ongoing research and authored several papers related to gastrointestinal immunology and colorectal topics. As a lecturer and guest speaker, Dr. Hriesik also devotes her time to educating the community.
Dr. Hriesik received her MD., Ph.D. from Hannover Medical School, one of the most prestigious medical universities in Germany in 1996. She mastered her doctoral thesis with “magna cum laude”, the highest academic honor for doctoral research. She also volunteered for the German Red Cross and served as an assistant teacher in the department of Anatomy and Microbiology. While in Medical School Dr. Hriesik was awarded scholarships for studies in Great Britain and the US.
Following graduation from Medical School and a scholarship awarded by the American Cure for Lymphoma foundation Dr. Hriesik completed further research at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Dr. Hriesik completed her surgical residency at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. She went on to train in surgical oncology at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and in colorectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
Dr. Hriesik is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.

Steven J. Ognibene, MD

Dr. Ognibene graduated Summa Cum Laude from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo in 1995. In 1999 he graduated from medical school at the SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse.
He completed his general surgical residency at the University of Rochester / Strong Memorial Hospital in 2004. Following surgical residency Dr. Ognibene completed a fellowship in the specialty of colorectal surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, CA in 2005.
Dr. Steven Ognibene exhibits extensive surgical expertise in the management of diseases of the colon and rectum. He practices with a team of surgeons who are national leaders in robotic colon and rectal surgery. He performs numerous surgical procedures on the small and large intestine (colon), rectum and anus.
Areas of specific interest include surgical management of Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, colorectal cancer and anorectal disorders.
Dr. Ognibene is certified by the American Board of Surgery (2006) and the American Board of Colon-Rectal Surgeons (2007). He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Community activity includes involvement in public education programs such as a J-Pouch support group for ulcerative colitis patients.

Mary Lou O'Neil, MD

Dr. O'Neill graduated cum laude from Williams College and then completed medical school and a surgical residency at the University of Rochester. Her Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship was completed at the University of Toronto in 1997 after which she joined RCRS. Dr. O'Neill grew up in Albany and now resides in Hilton.
