Spine Surgery is performed at Rochester General Hospital by Drs. Gordon Whitbeck and Steven Lasser, fellowship-trained spine surgeons who dedicate nearly 100% of their surgical activities to spine surgery.
Spinal conditions develop from degenerative change, trauma, tumor, infection, and metabolic bone disorders. The surgeons at Rochester General Hospital are highly trained in treatments of spinal conditions. We work closely with our patients to assure a smooth transition from one stage to the next during the treatment process. From before surgery to inpatient physical therapy to outpatient rehabilitation, we're with you every step of the way.
Our physician assistant staff and physical therapists are also very experienced with the care of the spinal patients. There is a full-time orthopaedic technician who is involved in the ordering and fitting of spinal braces and orthoses.
