Interventional Radiology
Interventional Radiology at Rochester General Diagnostic Imaging includes four (4) board-certified, fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologists who collaborate with a patient's primary care physician to provide managed, personalized care. Our team guides patients through the entire treatment process so they know what to expect during the procedure, understand the potential risks and complications, and are comfortable with their treatment plan.
Common Procedures & Treatments
Interventional radiology is a specialty which uses imaging (i.e., X-ray, CT, MRI and Ultrasound) guidance to perform minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. These procedures often replace conventional surgery.
Some of the most common interventional radiology procedures include:
- Uterine Fibroid Embolization (minimally invasive fibroid treatment)
- Kyphoplasty (balloon kyphoplasty)
- Chemoembolization
