Staff Physician Positions
Rochester General Hospital (RGH) is currently expanding the Dept of Neurology and seeks board certified Neurologists to help further develop sub-specialty expertise. This 528-bed acute care facility serves Rochester, the South Shore of Lake Ontario and the Finger Lakes Region. An academic appointment may also be available for successful candidates at neighboring University of Rochester. The department provides inpatient and outpatient consultation services, with the major thrust being in adult care. Although cerebrovascular disease represents a special area of expertise for the department, all areas are encouraged for further development by qualified physicians. The service provides general neurologic evaluation and operates a clinical neurophysiology laboratory and a neurovascular laboratory.
RGH has been designated by the state of New York as an official Stroke Center as of June 2005. Last year, RGH was named a Primary Stroke Center by the JCAHO, receiving the Gold Seal of Approval for health care quality and safety, becoming the only hospital in New York State to meet JCAHO standards.
