Breast Cancer Survivors Needed for Annual

August 10, 2010

Are you, or is someone you know, a Wayne County breast cancer survivor who would like to be a model in the 4th annual “Passionately Pink Fashion Show and Pampering Event” on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the Palmyra Town Hall?  The Fashion Show will feature 30 breast cancer survivors and will take place from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. The “Pampering” portion of the event will include manicures, pedicures and massages provided by local businesses from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Participation in the fashion show is limited to the first 30 Wayne County breast cancer survivors who register no later than Wednesday, September 8th.   Models will choose an outfit from Peebles or Fashion Bug and will have the option to purchase it at a significant discount.

“Many of the models also like to make a fashion statement with a pink accessory such as a scarf or breast cancer awareness pin,” says Susan Short, chair of the event and an 18 year breast cancer survivor. “It’s a lot of fun, even for the women who are stepping outside their comfort zone,” she added.

If you would like to be a model, please call the Cancer Services Program of Wayne County at (315) 332-2255 or toll-free at 1-800-854-8439 no later than Wednesday, September 8th to register.
