'Living Healthy With Diabetes' on July 15th

The Wayne County Rural Health Network, in conjunction with Parkwood Heights Senior Living Community, is sponsoring the second of three free informational seminars for the public on July 15th from 2 - 3 pm at Parkwood Heights in Macedon (1340 Parkwood Drive). Antje-Dirksen-Post, Healthcare Access Planner for Wayne County Rural Health, and also a Master Trainer for Stanford University’s Chronic Disease Self Management Program, and Sharon Morano, Community Nutrition Educator, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Wayne County will speak and answer questions on “Living Healthy with Diabetes.” Refreshments will be provided.

“People often don’t realize that small lifestyle changes in patients with chronic diseases, such as diabetes, can often help them to feel healthier and happier,” said Antje Dirksen-Post. “Even though there isn’t a cure for diabetes, there are many things that that patients can do to improve their symptoms and overall health.”

The Rural Health Network, sponsored by Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, is a collaborative partnership of health and human service providers who work together to provide services that no one provider could provide alone. The series will continue with the last scheduled presentation on November 4th on Colorectal Cancer Screening.
