About Dr. John Valvo
Dr. Valvo, an attending physician and Division Head of Urology at Rochester General, also serves as the Medical Director of Robotic Surgery, and is responsible for providing support and direction to facilitate growth in Robotic Surgery at RGH.
In addition to providing overall direction for the Robotics program, Dr. Valvo assists in the training and orientation of RGH surgeons to robotic technology, represents the Rochester General Health System to non-RGH surgeons in the community who may be candidates to utilize robotic surgery, organizes seminars and other education events associated with robotics for surgeons in Western New York, and assists in the development and oversight of hospital and medical staff quality monitoring and credentialing programs associated with robotics.
Dr. Valvo, who maintains practices in Rochester and Greece, earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He completed an internship in General Surgery and Residency in Urology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
