Rochester General Holds Bone Marrow Drive
(11/2/09)
Public is invited to join RGHS Team Members in donating
The Rochester area community is invited to join Team Members at Rochester General Health System for a bone marrow drive on Tuesday, November 10th, in the hospital's Old Main Lobby Concourse from 7:00 am - 4:00 pm. The drive is sponsored by Christopher's Challenge.
Christopher's Challenge, a charitable fund established in 1998 to continue the lifesaving work of bone marrow transplants, will pick up the cost of typing each potential donor, including members of the public. Individuals who participate should be willing to become potential donors through the National Marrow Donor Program.
Anyone between the ages of 18-60 and in good health may join the registry. The process is very simple - a cotton swab to the inside of the mouth is all that's required.
If you would like more information on the RGHS bone marrow drive or would like to schedule an appointment for a date other than 11/19/09, please contact Sally Sackett at sally.sackett@rochestergeneral.org.
