Newark-Wayne and Newark Rotary Sponsor Community Health Screening

Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, in conjunction with the Newark Rotary Club, is pleased to offer its annual health screening for community members. The health screening will be held, on Saturday, October 31st at both Newark-Wayne Community Hospital in Newark and at the Myers Laboratory in Sodus. The Newark Health Screen will take place from 6:00 am until 10:00 am in the Hospital’s cafeteria (1200 Driving Park Avenue, Newark). The Myers Health Screen will take place from 7:00 am until 10:30 am at the Outpatient Lab in the Medical Office Building (6692 Middle Rd, Suite 1100, Sodus).

This annual health screening is a great opportunity for individuals to obtain a preliminary review of their general health status through a variety of blood tests including liver, kidney, metabolic, lipid, and hematological functions. A range of 26 different blood tests will be performed to evaluate one’s health. Test results will be forwarded to the individual and his/her physician. The cost for the screening is just $25. There is an additional $10 charge for males who choose to have the test to screen for prostate cancer, (PSA).

Participants in the screening must fast from all food and drink, except water, for ten hours prior to their blood draw. Diabetics are advised to consult their physician before fasting. Refreshments will be provided for participants who have completed the screening.
