Senator Michael Nozzolio and Janelle Plumb from ALPCO Recycling were the Honorary Chairs at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital Foundation’s annual “Moonlight Jazz” fundraiser, a celebration of music, art, wine and food. The event was held on Saturday, June 20 at Greystone Golf Club in Walworth. Renowned jazz artist Gap Mangione and his Sextet Band and George Eastman House celebrated photographer, Jim Allen, provided entertainment and artwork for guests’ enjoyment at the Hospital’s 6th annual signature fundraiser. In addition, more than a dozen Wayne County Arts Council artists offered their work for sale including Dr. Hwang Nam Chang.
Proceeds of the annual Gala are designated to benefit the patients and families served by Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and DeMay Living Center. The Foundation is designating proceeds from this year's Gala to the new Emergency Department Project. With more that 22,000 people anticipated for care in its Emergency Department this year, Newark-Wayne Community Hospital will embark on the process of building a new Emergency Department and upgrading other outpatient services.
