Newark Hospital, DeMay Living Center & Community Partners Plans 4th Annual Spring Fest

FREE Bike Helmets, Drawings for Bicycles, Twister Games & Much More!

Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, DeMay Living Center, the Newark-Wayne Auxiliary and Rochester General Medical Group will be hosting the 4th annual FREE community event, "Spring Fest: Get Healthy. Be Well." on Saturday, June 6th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the grounds of the hospital (1200 Driving Park Avenue in Newark). The event is also made possible through the efforts of several community partners including: Newark Wegmans, Lincoln School PTA, Newark Kiwanis, Newark Police Department, WACK Radio, Heluva Good Cheese and Wayne County Public Health.

New this year, the Hospital will be giving away “Twister” games (one per family, children must be present). Other activities will include: a bike helmet fitting and give-away (limited quantities and sizes for children ages 2-12); a bike rodeo; drawings for FREE children’s bicycles; a car seat safety check; FREE glucose screens* and blood pressures; FREE refreshments; booths sponsored by emergency medical service providers, hospital departments and Wayne County organizations; fun music and much more. Also, the Emergency Department will be again be sponsoring the Teddy Bear Clinic and children are invited to bring a teddy bear or one of their other special stuffed friends for emergency care.

*12 hour fasting from food is suggested. Diabetics should follow their physician's orders.
