Rochester General Hospital Lifts Visitor Restrictions as H1N1 Cases Ease
Restrictions still in place for the hospital’s OB Unit
Because the incidence of Influenza cases is declining, and in order to be sensitive to the needs of our patients and their families during this holiday season, Rochester General Hospital is lifting the restrictions on visitors under the age of 18, effective immediately. The only exception remains the OB unit, where children visiting the unit will be limited to "well siblings” only.
Keep in mind that it is important to use good judgment and to continue to limit the number of visitors and to restrict any visitor who is ill. It is also important to note that we may be forced to re-institute these precautions if we see a rise in influenza cases again.
We would also like to thank our patients and visitors for understanding and supporting our efforts to prevent the spread of H1N1.
