Taylor Appointed Executive Director, ViaHealth of Wayne Foundation/Director of Community Services


Tonya Taylor has been appointed Executive Director of the ViaHealth of the Wayne Foundation and Director of Community Services. In this dual role, she will direct both the Foundationís activities and the marketing and community relations efforts of VOW. She will also represent the Foundation and ViaHealth of Wayne in the community to generate awareness of Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and DeMay Living Center and their mission and importance to Wayne County and surrounding communities.
She brings with her more than 14 years of related experience, most recently with Wilson Commencement Park in Rochester, where Taylor was responsible for fundraising, public relations and marketing. She served in similar capacities at the Heart Association and the American Red Cross.
ìIíll be working to build community partnerships with organizations, businesses and people living in Wayne County and the surrounding area to advance the mission of the hospital and DeMay Living Center,î said Tonya Taylor. ìThis year, Newark-Wayne Community Hospital will celebrate 50 years of providing high quality health care and improving the lives of the patients we serve.
She is a graduate of Elon University in North Carolina where she majored in Journalism and Communications. She is a board member of the Genesee Valley Association of Fundraising Professionals, of the Greater Rochester YMCA and of the Rochester Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists.
