OB/GYN Residency Program

Rochester General Hospital is a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Rochester. The Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at Rochester General Hospital is an independent program which is fully accredited by the American Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

OB-GYN Residents at Rochester General HospitalAn OB/GYN resident at RGH benefits from the wide range of clinical services as well as from the extraordinary academic and clinical faculty.  Their clinical expertise, scholarly interests, and commitment to teaching create an exciting and productive environment for learning.  The small size of our residency program ensures close interaction between residents and faculty.  In addition, our residents are provided with the opportunity to work with residents from the hospital’s Internal Medicine and Radiology Programs, as well as with residents from the University of Rochester’s Pediatrics and Surgery Programs while they rotate at RGH.

Graduates of our program have a diverse and thorough experience and are well prepared to enter practice as generalist obstetrician-gynecologists, or to seek subspecialty fellowship training.  Our graduates have performed well on the OB/GYN board exams, and are practicing in such diverse settings as academic faculty practice, suburban private practice, Public Health Service (BIA) and urban private practice.  The OB/GYN Residency Program at Rochester General Hospital can and will prepare you for whatever your future practice plans entail.

Medical students from the University’s School of Medicine & Dentistry rotate through their basic OB/GYN clerkship at RGH throughout the year.
