Admissions

An Intern in the Medical Technology ProgramThe Admissions cycle begins in September for the following year. Our Program accepts both students who have completed three years of study at their home college or university (3+1) as well as those who already hold the bachelor’s degree (4+1).

For 3+1 students, the internship constitutes the senior year and the student is granted the bachelor’s degree from his/her home college at the conclusion of the internship. For 4+1 students, the internship is a fifth year of study. These students do not receive a separate degree, but do receive a certificate of completion as do all students at the end of the internship.

The Program considers candidates from affiliated college and universities and non-affiliated college and universities on an equal footing. Usually 12-18 students are accepted for each internship year. Drawing students from a wide variety of sources creates an exciting, team-oriented atmosphere among class members.

At the conclusion of the Program all students are eligible to sit for a national certification examination. Our students have historically done extremely well on comprehensive challenge examination.
