Financial Aid
Financial Aid Application Procedure 2011-2012
- IGHSPN students are eligible to apply for Federal Pell Grants and federal student and parent loans. Full-time students are also eligible to apply for New York State TAP Grants.
- Begin the financial aid application process any time after 1/1/11 by completing the 2011-2012 FREE Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is your application for ALL of the financial aid programs noted above. Be sure to put the correct federal code, 015201, in Step Six (6) of your electronic FAFSA; we are listed under "Rochester General Hospital."
- If you will be a Full-time student, you should complete your NYS TAP application in the same session immediately after completing the FAFSA. Part-time students are not eligible for TAP.
- Additional grant funding may be available to you through a Monroe County agency called "Rochester Works." We encourage all students to investigate their eligibility for this grant by calling Rochester Works directly at (585) 258-3500. Call early, because funds are limited.
- If you are considering borrowing a federal student or parent loan, you will need to complete both an electronic Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling online through the Federal Direct Loan program at www.studentloans.gov. Note that our school name on this website, too, is "Rochester General Hospital."
- All accepted students will be required to meet with the IGHSPN Financial Advisor during May and June to finalize financial aid applications and/or payment arrangements. You will need to bring with you a copy of your 2010 IRS Form 1040. You will also need to submit an IGHSPN Financial Aid Supplement. Financial aid award letters will be mailed to students shortly after this meeting.
- The five-page IGHSPN Financial Aid Guide 2011-12 contains detailed information about the financial aid programs noted above, as well as federal, NYS, and IGHSPN financial aid policies and procedures. Also review 2011-2012 IGHSPN Financial Aid At-A-Glance, which gives a quick overview of the aid programs.
