About the Department of Pathology & Laboratory
The Department of Pathology & Laboratory is under the overall direction of Dawn K. Riedy, MD, Chief of Laboratory Services. The department consists of 14 laboratory sections, each under the technical direction and management of a Section Director or a Section Manager.
The Rochester General Health System Laboratory is accredited by New York State Department of Health, College of American Pathologists, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (we recently received accreditation with commendation by the JCAHO), and by American Association of Blood Banks.
The Pathology & Laboratory Vision
To have a highly successful high quality Clinical and Anatomic pathology laboratory with emphasis on service, teaching and research that will be State-of-the-art, efficient, cost effective, profitable and competitive with current and future financial remuneration.
The Department of Pathology & Laboratory will integrate the Laboratory services of its affiliates producing economics of scale with elimination of duplication where possible and result in lower cost/test and improved service.
