The Rochester Aging Study
To develop the methods to identify a bionomic profile for Alzheimer's disease. Bionomic profiles, determined by analyzing a blood sample, combine information from a person's genes and their environment. It is hoped that physicians will eventually use this bionomic profile to diagnose people at the very early stages of Alzheimer's disease, when treatments can be most beneficial. Information from bionomic profiles could also be used to develop new medications to help prevent or slow the progression of the disease.
