Rochester General Medical Group Opens New Allergy, Immunology & Rheumatology Office in Greece

Rochester General Medical Group an affiliate of Rochester General Health System, has opened a new Center for Allergy Immunology Rheumatology (CAIR) office in Greece at 3800 Dewey Avenue to serve the growing numbers of patients who live in the Greece region.

This is the third office for the Center for Allergy Immunology Rheumatology, which also has offices in Downtown Rochester at 222 Alexander St. and in Linden Oaks, Penfield, at 10 Hagen Drive 

The new Greece office is staffed by Dr. Ana Maria Arango, a Rheumatologist and Dr. S. Shahzad Mustafa, an Allergist. Walk-in allergy shots are offered every Thursday.

Dr. Arango, and Dr. S Mustafa will see patients with a range of conditions including adverse reactions to drugs, hives, allergic and non-allergic nasal and sinus disease, asthma, autoimmune/ immunologic diseases, eczema, food allergies, rheumatoid, inflammatory and osteoarthritis arthritis, systemic lupus, spondylosis, scleroderma, and gout/crystal arthritis.

Dr. Mustafa joined Rochester General’s Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology division in 2009. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, and Allergy and Immunology, and treat adults and children. A Rochester native, Dr. Mustafa pursued his undergraduate studies at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and attended medical school at SUNY Buffalo. He completed his internal medicine training at the University of Colorado and completed his fellowship in allergy and clinical immunology at the University of Colorado and National Jewish Health. Dr. Mustafa has been involved in research on peanut allergy and new therapies for asthma.

Dr. Arango joined Rochester General’s Allergy/Immunology/Rheumatology division in 2007.  She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, and treats adults. Dr. Arango attended the Valle University Medical School in Cali, Columbia and completed her residency in internal medicine and her fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. She is also fluent in Spanish.
