About the Infusion Center

Patients in the Finger Lakes region no longer need to travel to Rochester or other centers outside of the region to receive infusion services. Newark-Wayne Community Hospital offers outpatient infusion services close to home. The program provides IV therapy for patients with chronic diseases in a safe, comfortable and convenient location to help improve quality of life. The Infusion Center also provides care for patients with PICC lines, a special IV catheter that is inserted into a vein and is used to administer drugs or antibiotics over a long period of time. The Infusion Center accepts orders from all New York State licensed providers.

• Bleeding disorders (DDAVP) and Plasmapheresis

• Alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency (Prolastin)
• Osteoporosis (Boniva, Reclast, Zometa, Prolia)

Meet Our Infusion Center Nurses

Sheree Rugenstein, RN, Infusion Nurse, BARD Certified PICC

“Because my patients are often here from four to six hours or more, I try to use that time to educate them about their conditions and to help make their lives a little easier. This comes from working in the medical field for many years; listening is so important. I am also in contact with their physicians and can act as a liaison between these patients and their doctors. Besides the medical services we provide, we try to make coming here pleasant and even fun.”

Sheree has been a nurse for 12 years and is currently working on her BSN at Roberts Wesleyan College. Sheree is specially trained to care for patients with PICCs. She also has extensive nursing experience in acute care, primary care, endoscopy and the Infusion Center.

Becky Lankford, RN

Becky is specially trained caring for patients with PICCs. She also has training and has worked extensively in Intensive Care, Critical Care and Surgical Care.
