Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program
Rochester General Hospital is a 528-bed tertiary care center affiliated with the University of Rochester and Cleveland Clinic. RGH has active medical and surgical services including the largest cardiothoracic service in the region.
In the previous academic year, 110 physicians in 18 different residency programs trained at Rochester General Hospital. By any benchmark, Rochester General Hospital is an institution firmly committed to the development of tomorrow's physicians.
About Rochester General Hospital Diagnostic Imaging
The Rochester General Diagnostic Imaging Department performed over 290,000 exams in 2013 using state-of-the-art equipment. Currently, we have:
- Three dedicated angiography suites with two Phillips single-plane systems (new state-of-the-art flat panel detector, new state-of-the-art dedicated Phillips bi-plane system).
- Dedicated CT procedure room
- Seven helical CT scanners
- One 64 CT scanner
- Four 1.5T MRI scanners
- State-of-the-art ultrasound
- Digital fluoroscopy
- Digital mammography
- Digital angiography
- PET functional imaging
Resources for resident instruction include Rochester General Hospital's 10,000-case teaching file and the 3,600-case teaching file of the American College of Radiology. Our radiology library and the hospital's extensive Werner Medical Library provides valuable resources through journal subscriptions, texts, and the internet.
Our program uses a night float system for call.
