New Ambulatory Services
NEW AMBULATORY SERVICES COMING TO LINDEN OAKS
Rochester General Health System (RGHS) has dramatically expanded its commitment to providing the area with world-class ambulatory services – a healthcare component in increasing demand among patients and referring physicians.
Earlier this year RGHS formed an Ambulatory Division to focus exclusively on a wide range of outpatient services, all clinically integrated with Rochester General Hospital and the rest of the health system. And in March, the acquisition of Linden Oaks Medical Campus was announced to the community – along with plans to make that 250,000 square-foot Penfield complex the new headquarters of a robust slate of RGHS ambulatory services by 2013.
The campus currently offers primary and specialty care, physical / occupational therapies and oncology and laboratory services. In the future, an expanded oncology center and an urgent care facility will be added, and the RGHS Lattimore Surgical Center will be relocated.
Ambulatory services will continue to be offered from Rochester General Hospital, but by expanding the availability of these services, RGHS is making it easier for all patients to receive the same level of high-quality, coordinated care, regardless of where they’re located. “This is a prominent and tangible local example of the national trend toward developing comprehensive ambulatory centers that are, in effect, hospitals without beds,” said RGHS President and CEO Mark C. Clement. “All of these services will have the signature care, comforting touch and clinical excellence offered by the same physicians and caregivers who work throughout Rochester General Health System.”
