GRIPA Offers Benefits for Private Physicians

gripaWith federally mandated health care exchanges now open, physicians have even more reason to pay close attention to the new regulatory landscape surrounding health care reform – including benefits for those who are able to comply with the quality measures laid out in the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Since 1996, hundreds of private physicians have relied on the Greater Rochester Independent Practice Association (GRIPA) to advocate on their behalf for improved rates from payers, among other benefits. The ACA’s quality performance measures are largely reflected in the innovative Care For Health accountable care agreement that was initiated this year between GRIPA, Rochester General Health System and Excellus BlueCross BlueShield. Care For Health provides both shared incentives for member practices who meet specified quality measures, and an array of care management and patient-data tools to help member practices realize those benefits by providing even better care.
