RGHS Enhances Focus on Outpatient Radiology
Partnership with Rochester Radiology Associates will enhance existing ambulatory diagnostic imaging services
Rochester General Health System has formed a new partnership agreement with Rochester Radiology Associates (RRA) and its MRI division, Rochester Diagnostic Imaging (RDI), as part of an ongoing initiative to deliver comprehensive, convenient and high-quality ambulatory services to its growing greater Rochester patient base.
This partnership complements Rochester General’s current Radiology services – at Rochester General Hospital (RGH) and Newark-Wayne Community Hospital (NWCH), among other locations – enabling the health system to offer a full range of radiology services to inpatient and outpatient clients alike.
With the addition of RRA, RGHS can now provide dedicated, customized radiology services to its outpatients at a variety of convenient locations. Additionally, this merger allows RGHS to fully dedicate its in-house RGH Radiology department team to the exclusive needs of emergency department patients and inpatients – enhancing customer service and responsiveness for all patient populations.
“The radiologists of RRA have already expertly served the radiology needs of RGH and NWCH through an exclusive agreement for several years,” said Mark C. Clement, RGHS President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are extremely pleased to be able to expand this partnership through the development of a truly comprehensive RGHS Radiology service line, that will meet the needs of our entire patient community.”
Hugh Thomas, senior vice president of ambulatory services and RGHS general counsel, praised RRA’s longstanding community reputation for exceptional patient care and highly-attentive customer service.
“That well-earned reputation is perfectly aligned with our vision for the RGHS Ambulatory Division,” Thomas said. “Through this merger, we look forward to working even more closely with the RRA staff to further develop a signature and sought-after patient care experience that can be leveraged, not only within our expanded Radiology Service Line, but across our entire ambulatory network.”
The full integration of RRA operations into RGHS will take place in stages over the next several months to ensure a seamless transition for staff and patients.
