Michelle Swanger-Gagne, PhD joined the Behavioral Pediatrics Program at Rochester General Hospital in 2011. Dr. Swanger-Gagne received her PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and completed specialty training in pediatric school psychology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She completed an internship focused in family therapy at the Kennedy Krieger Institute of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and then went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship in primary care-family psychology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She specializes in working with children and adolescents with academic and behavioral concerns in school, such as learning disabilities, ADHD, and school anxiety. She also teaches and supervises trainees in family therapy and has been published in School Mental Health and School Psychology Journals.
