Dr. Lerner received her Medical Doctorate from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She completed her internal medicine residency, as well as a subsequent fellowship in pulmonary medicine and critical care at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Prior to joining Rochester General Health System, Dr. Lerner earned the rank of Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy. She served in Kuwait, Kandahar Afghanistan, the National Naval Medical Center in Maryland, and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in Virginia where she served as Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care and was an associate professor of medicine at the Uniformed Services School of Health Sciences.
