Dr. Jeanne L. DelSignore is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is fellowship trained in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery, holding additional board certification with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand. She is a Clinical Associate Professor of Orthopaedics and maintains staff privileges in private practice at Highland, Strong Memorial and Rochester General Hospital. She was the Chief of the department of Orthopaedics at the former Genesee Hospital and is nationally known for her career devotion to ethics, having chaired the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Committee on Ethics and Professionalism for during a seven-year tenure. She is currently a member of the Ethics Committee of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and is the Chair of the US Lacrosse Ethics Advisory Committee, having recently established a Code of Ethics for the sport of lacrosse. She is a member of the US Lacrosse Rochester Chapter Board of Directors. She is a member of the international organization, Health Volunteers Overseas, through which she volunteers her time and expertise as a hand surgeon in Nicaragua and Honduras where she is involved in treating patients and training residents and attending surgeons.
Dr. DelSignore has developed and published a new technique for reconstruction of arthritis at the base of the thumb and has taught many hand surgeons, both locally and nationally, regarding performance of this method. She is actively involved in an ongoing prospective analysis of this technique and is also involved in research and development of new advances in basal joint arthritis reconstruction, including the development of a biologic in-growth stabilization device. Her practice has a specialty interest in arthritis joint reconstruction and also includes treatment of patients of all ages with problems related to congenital, developmental, degenerative, neurological and traumatic conditions.
