Our Team

Our breast cancer patients are treated in a multidisciplinary approach by our team of experts. The Rochester General Breast Center hosts a weekly breast conference where specialists from surgery, diagnostic imaging, radiation oncology, medical oncology, plastic surgery, pathology, genetic counseling and our clinical breast navigator meet to discuss newly diagnosed or challenging breast cancer cases to offer the most up-to-date and individualized treatment plan for our patients. Leaders for each of these specialty areas are listed below.

Andrea LaRosa - Breast NavigatorAndrea LaRosa, RN, BSN
Breast Navigator

Andrea is a graduate from Monroe Community College with an Associates degree in Health Science. She completed her Bachelors degree in nursing at St. John Fisher College (Rochester, NY). Andrea has been an employee at Rochester General Hospital for 16 years and has experience in the Emergency Dept, Operating Room and worked as a staff nurse on a Medical/Surgical unit. She also has done hospice work at the Sunset House (Rochester, NY) and is a member of Genesee Valley Nurses Association (GVNA) and Oncology Nursing Association (ONS).

Diagnostic Imaging

Our physicians are leaders in the field of diagnostic imaging. As a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, patients receive the highest standard of care and medical expertise. Our team monitors examinations and interprets diagnostic images with ultimate accuracy. We work alongside our community private radiology partners, including Rochester General Diagnostic Imaging, Rochester Radiology Associates (RRA), and The Elizabeth Wende Breast Care Clinic, to provide state-of-the-art breast imaging services.

Plastic Surgery

Our highly specialized plastic surgeons provide a compassionate approach to complex breast reconstructions, ranging from breast implants to "free flap" natural tissue breast reconstruction procedures. They have a high volume of experience in breast reconstructive surgeries both immediate (at the same time as a mastectomy) and delayed (awhile after a mastectomy).
