About the Surgical Oncology Center
Part of the Lipson Cancer Center and the cancer program at Rochester General Hospital, the Surgical Oncology Center has been designated a Center of Excellence for pancreatic cancer surgery. We offer patients comprehensive cancer care backed by the superior reputation of Rochester General Health System, recently ranked third in New York State for Overall Surgical Care, as well as Overall Medical Care, according to the 2012 report from CareChex®, a Division of The Delta Group.
Our team conducts clinical cancer research and performs nearly 3,000 cancer surgeries every year, using preoperative chemotherapy and radiation therapy treatments prior to surgery. We make it a top priority to partner with you and your staff to ensure that all patients receive the highest quality, coordinated care.
We offer services for patients in two convenient locations: Rochester General Hospital and Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. We are also able to provide pre- and postsurgical care for Wayne County residents—right where they live—through our Telehealth Program at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
