The Recreation Department at ElderONE focuses on maintaining the individual participant's personal recreational goals and interests.
The ElderONE PACE Center is a vibrant and active center focusing on individual projects and active small and large group programs as well. At the center you will find programs that are culturally diverse and that offer the opportunity for each independent participant to pursue their individual interests, as well as become a part of the ElderONE community.
Recreation at the Alternate Care Settings and individualized home care activity plans are designed as needed. The following are examples of some of the activities including:
- Worship services
- Musical entertainment
- Holiday celebrations
- Women and men's socials clubs
- Computer classes and computer use with specially designed software called "It's Never 2 Late"
- Arts and crafts
- Games, exercise and dancing, including chair dancing
- Pet therapy
The center has recreational coordinators who organize activities for ElderONE participants. There are also intergenerational programs that are coordinated with area schools and a child day care center.
The ElderONE PACE Center has a very active Participant Council, which makes recommendations for new activities and offers feedback to the ElderONE program to continually improve participant satisfaction and the quality of the activities offered.
