About Endocrine-Diabetes Education
The Endocrine-Diabetes Care & Resource Center has provided quality education programs taught by experienced Certified Diabetes Educators for over a decade. You do not need to be followed by one of our Endocrinologists to receive educational services. Many patients choose to work with their own physicians to manage their disease and come to the Endocrine-Diabetes Care & Resource Center for educational services.

Diabetes Education Services
For those who have diabetes, we offer individual and group education along with a library of books, videos, computers with relevant Web sites and other resources. Our education programs do not require a referral to an endocrinologist; they can be accessed individually based on your needs.
Our programs, all recognized by the American Diabetes Association, include individual consultations and group classes with certified diabetes educators. We offer a patient-focused holistic approach both to preventing and managing diabetes. Information is available on everything from tracking carbohydrates to using insulin.
One-on-one instruction with a Certified Diabetes Educator (Covered by insurance, standard co-pays apply)
Our Certified Diabetes Educators work with you on the following topics:
- Insulin instruction
- Glucose meter instruction
- Blood sugar monitoring, instruction and control
- Pre-pump screening
Living Well with Diabetes (Covered by insurance, standard co-pays apply)
These group sessions (4 hours total) provide all the information needed to stay healthy with diabetes. Classes include medical management of diabetes, preventing complications, and exercise with diabetes.
Nutrition and Diabetes Classes (Covered by insurance, standard co-pays apply)
One two-hour class, reviews how to enjoy eating with diabetes while maintaining blood sugar values. Topics include: how foods affect blood sugars, portion control, and carbohydrate counting.
NUTRITION AND WEIGHT MANAGEMENT SERVICES (Not covered by insurance, self-pay fees apply)
Issues such as being overweight, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and pre-diabetes are addressed in group sessions led by Registered Dieticians and Registered Nurses.
For those who would like to better manage their health through diet, we offer weight loss programs in our inviting, state-of-the-art facility. Our classrooms are equipped with smartboard technology and videoconferencing equipment.
