General Description

Our speech language pathologists provide inpatient, outpatient and acute rehabilitation services in the areas of speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disabilities.  Specialty areas include:

  • Neurologic rehabilitation of speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders
  • Voice evaluation and therapy, including care of singers and other professional voice users
  • Laryngectomy rehabilitation, including fitting and management of tracheoesophageal prosthes
  • Swallowing disorders of all etiologies, including Videofluoroscopic Swallowing Studies and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing. Therapy includes swallowing exercise, SEMG biofeedback, and Deep Pharyngeal Neuromuscular Stimulation
  • Evaluation and therapy for Vocal Cord Dysfunction (paradoxical vocal cord adduction)
  • Communication and swallowing services for tracheostomized/ventilator-dependent patients
