Addiction Services

When there is help, there is HOPE...

circle of people

Chemical Dependency is not a weakness or character flaw...It's a disease - one not so different from diabetes or a heart condition. An estimated 22 million Americans suffer from chemical dependency or substance abuse. Many individuals who attend our program also have other co-occurring concerns including mental health and medical issues, learning challenges, legal involvement and challenges with stable housing to name just a few.

You are not alone. Your disease can be treated through the comprehensive and fully integrated treatment program at Rochester General Hospital.

Our mission is to help our patients, both individuals and families affected by mental illness and substance abuse, achieve their full potential to live, work and prosper. We will meet these needs by providing high quality, culturally competent services within an integrated health care delivery system.

At RGH Addiction Services, we offer a future unburdened by addiction, both by addressing destructive patterns and creating a pathway to personal transformation. Our compassionate and experienced team work together with each patient to find the best approach to treatment.

Our Services

Evaluations - A clinician completes an initial assessment to determine if there is a need for addiction services and what kind of treatment will best address the presenting concerns. We also offer screening and assessment for Driving While Impaired offences.

Individual Therapy - These sessions provide an opportunity for more in-depth treatment and involve the patient working with a therapist on identified life areas in the comprehensive treatment plan.

Group Therapy - Group programming is offered in both intensive and outpatient sessions. The groups provide a multi-faceted array of services, structure and support, as well as help with self-awareness and coping skills training.

Medication Services - (Including Suboxone Induction / Treatment) If psychiatric evaluation and / or medication is indicated, a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner is available to provide treatment and monitoring.

Addiction is never planned - but what comes next can be.
Regain power of choice and get back to who you are.
We'll be with you every step of the way.
