Crisis Services

Crisis Services provides emergency mental health evaluation and consultation, crisis intervention and referral to patients in acute psychiatric distress. The system includes Rochester Mental Health Center walk-in services at 490 East Ridge Road, Genesee Mental Health Center and the Rochester General Hospital Emergency Department.

Crisis Services provides:

  • Emergency mental health evaluation
  • Consultation
  • Crisis intervention

Referral

Crisis services are provided by Rochester Mental Health Center and Genesee Mental Health Center, and mental health consultation services and short term crisis assessments are provided by Rochester General Hospital's Emergency Department.

Crisis services at the Rochester Mental Health Center and Genesee Mental Health Center are provided Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Emergency services are available 24 hours in Rochester General Hospital's Emergency Department.

Services Provided

Crisis services provides:

  • Emergency evaluation, crisis intervention, and referral.
  • Mental health consultation to patients in the Rochester General Hospital Emergency Department.
  • Crisis assessment following an emergency room visit or inpatient stay - Comprehensive Outpatient Psychiatric Services (COPS).

 

 

 

 

Our Team

Our acute care team consists of:

  • Crisis Specialist Ambulance
  • Psychiatrist-On-Call
  • Psychiatric Assignment Officers (PAOs)

Eligibility Requirements

Patients in acute psychiatric distress who require emergency evaluation are eligible to participate.
