Rochester General Hospital, Newark Wayne Community Hospital and Rochester General Medical Groups are committed to improving the health of the people and communities we serve by providing high quality care with compassion. Our Financial Assistance program (also called Charity Care) and payment plans are designed to assist patients who may be facing a challenge in meeting their healthcare financial obligations.
If we are unaware that you are having financial difficulty, unpaid bills may be referred to a collection agency and therefore negatively effect your credit. It is important that you reach out to us for assistance so we may work together to ease the burden of your healthcare costs.
RGHS patients with or without insurance may set up a manageable monthly payment plan. The length of the payment plan is dependent on the outstanding balance due. There is no cost or added fees to this program.
Our Financial Assistance program may substantially reduce the amount owed to RGHS. Discount amounts are calculated based on income and family size as determined by the Federal Poverty Guidelines published annually by the Department of Health and Human Services.
Therefore, along with a completed application, we will need some basic income information such as one month of pay stubs in order to process an application for assistance. If married, we will also need this information for your spouse.
If unemployed, examples of necessary income documents may include:
- Unemployment Award Letter
- Social Security Award Letter
- Disability Award Letter
In the box to the right you may download an application for this program in both English and Spanish. Please complete, sign, and return the application and income documentation. After review of the application you will be notified by mail of the approved discount amount or denial reason. The Rochester General Health System has a staff of professionals who can assist with your application.
